Talent begets talent and inspiring, mentoring and accelerating growth companies to do business in Saratoga and the region will enhance workforce skills for current and new businesses,” said Dennis Brobston, SEDC President. “We are honored to have proven leaders in business with a strong sense of community adding to the talent already present here. Our mentors are actively lending their talents to entrepreneurs to keep innovation happening for our next generation. Just since its launch in April, Spark Saratoga is confidentially assisting businesses across information technology, manufacturing, direct to consumer businesses, agribusiness and more. The willing entrepreneurs are second or third career retirees, women advancing products they’ve long contemplated to patent and prototyping, or to expand markets they were already pursuing. All entrepreneurs face challenges. Our network is helping them to identify their market potential, skill or production gaps and the professional or finance resources to help them.”

The UVC 2017 Venture Ecosystem Awards! received over 120 submissions across the state for their five awards categories. These nominations represent the entrepreneurial leaders throughout Upstate New York who are transforming the region’s economy.
