Throughout its 45+ year history, SEDC has worked closely on behalf of Project Applicants with Industrial Development Agencies in Saratoga County; Saratoga County IDA, Clifton Park IDA and the Mechanicville-Stillwater IDA. These agencies are constituted government authorities, supported by volunteer members who meet on a regular basis, typically monthly.
The primary role and responsibilities of these agencies are to provide financial assistance and incentives to the business development community to maximize private capital investment in the economy of Saratoga County and to develop opportunities for job creation and job retention throughout the County with the use of their own assets, public funds and private investment.

Lifetime Billion+ Dollar Investments in Saratoga County
In 2005, GlobalFoundries invested $4.6 billion dollars in Malta, NY. With the creation of over 3,000 jobs, GlobalFoundries, as of 2026, has invested over $15 billion dollars in Saratoga County.
In 2025, Regeneron announced that they are investing over $2 billion dollars, in the Grande Industrial Park located in Saratoga Springs, resulting in 1,000 new full-time jobs.
